Name:  California (Flat-topped) Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum)

Family:  Buckwheat (Polygonaceae)

Flowering Season:  March thru November

Notes:  Also known as "Flat-topped Buckwheat" because its tiny, white flowers grow in bunches with flat tops, it is a native shrub with fascicled leaves.  It was used by the Native Americans as flour for cooking and is related to the buckwheat currently used to make flour for pancakes.  Can reach 3 feet.
